The Degradation: From Goddard to The Secret

From Module 1 of the Reality Architecture course: "Understanding this degradation is not merely academic. It explains why millions of people have tried ‘manifestation’ techniques and been disappointed. And why that disappointment has led them to dismiss not just the commercial versions of the teaching but the genuine philosophical and contemplative insights that underlie those versions. The degradation has, in other words, been expensive: not just to individual practitioners, but to the cultural conversation about consciousness and reality.

The point of this analysis is not cynicism. It is discernment. The genuine teaching, the one that runs from the Hermetic tradition through Goddard, is worth taking seriously. It is worth separating from the commercial distortions that have surrounded it. And it is worth examining honestly, which means neither accepting it uncritically because it sounds inspiring nor dismissing it reflexively because of its association with the popular versions."

I have been a little skeptical of many of "The Law of Attraction" teachings even before researching for and developing the information presented in Module 1 of the Reality Architecture course. As with most of my studies surrounding true reality, I find the information found in more ancient texts provide better explanations and methods for manifesting and creating the realities we desire. With that said, I do feel that Goddard and a few other more "modern" spiritual teachers have found excellent ways to present the ancient wisdom concepts surrounding reality creation.
